Welcome to my homepage! Seventh grade language arts includes the study of punctuation, capitalization, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, poetry, the 4 genres of writing; also, the reading of intriguing short stories, plays, and novels. We use a variety of individual and cooperative learning methods in class.

Concerning professional background, I have taught language arts at the high school, junior high, and elementary levels. People tell me that my enthusiasm for my subject area shows. I've written two children's books, newspaper articles, magazine articles, and have marketed poetry bookmarks. I attend summer workshops to stay updated in writing, on new books, and on teaching techniques. In addition, I've coached Power of the Pen and have served on Ohio Power of the Pen judging teams.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Dayton, with a major in English and a minor in public speaking.My Masters degree, also from U.D., is in school counseling. I completed an additional 30+ semester hours after the Masters program,for credentials in Elementary Education also.
